Speed Queen Washer Repair

Is your washer failing to spin or struggling with a heavy cycle? We specialize in the commercial-grade internals of Speed Queen machines, from heavy-duty drive motors and stainless steel tubs to the specialized transmissions found in the Classic TC series. Whether it’s an agitator adjustment or a control board repair, we ensure your Speed Queen continues to handle your toughest loads for years to come.

Common Speed Queen Washer Issues

  • Er / dO: Door/Lid Open. The cycle won’t start. Fix: Ensure the lid is closed. On front-loaders, check if a stray sock is blocking the latch.

  • Er / du: Door Lock Error. The door failed to lock after 3 attempts. Fix: Check the locking pin for debris. The wax motor or solenoid in the latch may have failed.

  • Er / nF: No Fill. The washer didn’t reach the target water level. Fix: Check your faucets. Clean the “inlet screens” where the hoses connect to the back of the washer.

  • Er / nd: No Drain: Water is stuck in the tub. Fix: This is often a clogged drain pump. Speed Queens are tough, but a bobby pin or coin can still jam the impeller.
  • Er / ub: Unbalanced Load. The load shifted during the high-speed spin. Fix: Open the lid, redistribute the clothes (especially heavy towels/jeans), and restart.
  • Er / SL: Suds Leak. Too much soap detected. Fix: Use only HE detergent and reduce the amount by half. Run a “Rinse & Spin” to clear the bubbles.
  • Er / bP: Pressure Sensor. The “water level” sensor is giving a weird reading. Fix: Check the small clear plastic tube inside the cabinet; if it’s pinched or has a hole, the machine won’t fill.

Speed Queen Dryer Repair

A dryer that won’t heat disrupts the efficiency of your laundry room. Our technicians quickly diagnose commercial-grade heating elements, high-limit thermostats, and heavy-duty drum rollers to restore the high-velocity airflow and signature reliability Speed Queen is known for. We ensure your dryer operates at peak performance while protecting your fabrics.

Common Speed Queen Dryer Issues

  • Er / tS: Temp Sensor Open. The thermistor (sensor) is disconnected. Fix: Check the wiring harness at the back of the dryer.

  • Er / tH: Temp Sensor Short. The sensor has failed. Fix: Replace the NTC thermistor.

  • Er / AF: Airflow Fault. The dryer senses a blockage. Fix: This is the #1 Speed Queen dryer call. Clean your lint duct! If the pipe to the outside is clogged, the dryer will shut down to prevent a fire.

Speed Queen Troubleshooting

1. The “Hard Reset” (Front Loaders)

If the display is frozen or showing a “communication error” (often Er / oP):

  • The Fix: Unplug the machine for a full 5 minutes. This allows the heavy-duty capacitors on the motor control board to discharge and reset the logic.

2. The “Diagnostic Mode” (For the TR Series)

If you have no display but the lights are flashing, you can enter “Service Mode” to see what’s wrong:

  1. Close the lid.

  2. Press the Start/Pause button.

  3. Rotate the cycle knob to Heavy Duty.

  4. Press and hold the Start/Pause button for 10 seconds. The lights will flash in a specific sequence that tells a technician which part has failed.

3. The “Overfill” Safety

Speed Queens use a physical pressure switch. If your washer is overflowing, the pressure tube is likely clogged with scrub/detergent gunk. Blowing air through the tube (towards the tub) can often clear the blockage and fix the issue instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions: Speed Queen Repair

Is there a fee for the service call?

We offer a $0 service fee with any completed repair. If you choose to proceed with the fix, the diagnostic fee is completely waived.

Do you use genuine Speed Queen OEM parts?

Yes. Speed Queen machines are engineered to last 25 years in a home environment. Using generic, low-quality parts can significantly shorten that lifespan and compromise the machine’s balance. We use exclusively genuine Speed Queen parts to ensure your machine maintains its industrial-strength performance and superior cleaning power.

Do you provide a warranty on your work?

Yes. All our Speed Queen repairs come with a comprehensive 90-day warranty on both parts and labor. We stand behind our quality so you can have peace of mind.

How soon can you service my Speed Queen laundry unit?

We understand that you bought a Speed Queen to avoid laundry day interruptions. We offer priority service for Speed Queen owners, often providing same-day or next-day diagnostics. Our technicians carry a specialized stock of commercial-grade Speed Queen OEM parts to ensure your machine is back in action as quickly as possible.

Where do I find the ID tag on my Speed Queen dryer?

Open the dryer door. The model and serial number sticker is located on the inner door well (the frame around the drum opening). On some older commercial-style models, it may also be on the top-rear of the control console.

How can I tell if my Speed Queen is a TR or a TC model?

While the model number will tell us for sure, you can usually check the control panel. TC models (Classic Clean) typically have a “Deep Fill” button and an agitator that moves independently of the tub. TR models (Symmetric Agile) often have a “Speed Cycle” option and an agitator that moves with the tub. Knowing this helps us bring the right transmission or drive components!

Can I find my model info on the digital display?

No. Unlike some smart appliances, Speed Queen’s digital displays are reserved for cycle info and error codes. You will need to locate the physical silver sticker for model and serial identification.
